Aksys Games has announced plans to localize Muramasa Rebirth for distribution in North America. The Japanese PlayStation Vita title is an enhanced port of the Nintendo Wii game Muramasa: The Demon Blade. A U.S. release date has not been announced as of now nor a European distributor.
Muramasa Rebirth will see a number of improvements and additions thanks to the hardware capabilities of the PS Vita. Graphics from the original game will see high-resolution remasters that should look stunning on the OLED screen. The English text translation will be completely redone by Aksys Games. The game will also feature enhanced controls and new playable characters via downloadable content players can purchase.
Muramasa is an action role-playing game developed by Vanillaware, the Japanese studio behind the cult-hit PlayStation 2 title Odin Sphere. Like their previous games, Muramasa features 2D graphics using a hand-drawn Japanese painting art style. The story follows a princess possessed by an evil spirit named Momohime and Kisuke, a ninja who's lost his memory. The two will search for the 108 mysterious demon blades while battling demons through Feudal Japan.
