Far Cry 3 wins big at Canadian Videogame Awards

22 April 2013

Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 has scooped up six gongs at the Canadian Videogame Awards over the weekend.

The fourth annual bash saw the critically-acclaimed sandbox FPS receive the prestigious Game of the Year Award, Best Animation and Best Game Design to name but a few.

Elsewhere, Mass Effect 3 came away looking pretty rosy, picking up Best Console Game, Best Original Music and Best Writing. Mark of the Ninja from Klei Entertainment scooped two awards – Best Indie Game and Best Downloadable Game – while Sound Shapes won Best Game Innovation.

“The sheer concentration of quality games produced in 2012 was utterly mind-boggling. Small or large, independently produced or developed by teams of hundreds, the nominees this year truly represent the diversity in the Canadian videogame industry,” said Victor Lucas, executive producer of The Electric Playground and founder of the Canadian Videogame Awards.
