Insomniac Games has confirmed on the U.S. PlayStation Blog that its beloved Ratchet & Clank franchise is officially getting the movie treatment.
The developer has revealed that it will be playing a hands-on role in the project, which is in production at Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment.
Happily, Insomniac will be dabbling in the film’s production, screenplay, character development and animation consulting.
If that wasn’t enough to ensure the quality of the dynamic duo’s videogame offerings translates successfully to the silver screen, Ratchet & Clank scribe T.J. Fixman will also be penning the script for the film.
To celebrate the news, Insomniac also announced plans for a sale on all things Ratchet & Clank on the PlayStation Store during the week of April 30.
Ratchet & Clank will be arriving in cinemas in 2015. More details will be announced shortly, but for now, here’s a teaser.
