Shuttered SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive was working on a first-person shooter for PlayStation 4 prior to closing up shop.
That’s according to LinkedIn profiles for former employees, who revealed that the firm had two projects in the works, one of which was based around a new IP. However, both were “halted upon the dissolution of the studio.”
Zipper Interactive was founded in 1995 and made a name for itself developing a number of titles in the SOCOM franchise. It was later snapped by Sony in 2006, with its first title following the acquisition being MAG for PlayStation 3.
The studio’s final project was Unit 13 for PlayStation Vita, which was released last year.
Sony announced on March 30, 2012 that Zipper Interactive had officially closed its doors.
