The developer behind the Dead Island franchise has unwrapped a new hack-‘n-slash romp named Hellraid.
Techland is promising two distinct experiences with Hellraid, namely a narrative-driven campaign for solo players and a multiplayer co-op outing where gamers duke it out for points, rewards and fame.
Set in a first-person viewpoint, Hellraid’s solo offering sees players battling across a demon-devastated landscape, acquiring loot, developing skills and forging their own weapons. You’ll traverse perilous swamps, prisons and ancient catacombs as you hack your way through hordes of demonic foes.
Playing in co-op meanwhile will see you in a team of four heroes, each possessing unique weapons and skills. The Warrior specializes in swords and axes, while the Paladin’s healing properties will no doubt come in handy during a scrap. Also available is the Mage, who wields a variety of deadly magic, and the Rogue, who is a crack shot with his deadly crossbow.
In addition to featuring a variety of weapons, incorporating magic, melee and ranged attacks, Hellraid also features various RPG staples such as the ability to craft weapons and customize armour.
Hellraid is due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 later this year.
