SEGA will release a new entry in the venerable Sonic the Hedgehog franchise later this year.
That’s according to a well-known Sonic news source, which claims the game – codenamed Sonic Excursion – will be released for current and next-generation consoles in November.
News originates from a source named Wentos on Segabits (via NeoGAF), who have apparently come up trumps with early leaks for new Sonic titles dating back to Sonic Unleashed in 2008.
Planned formats include PlayStation 3, PC, Wii U, Xbox 360, as well as 3DS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Infinite – the latter presumably the moniker for Microsoft’s new home console.
The last major Sonic title, Generations, was released in 2011.
