Sledgehammer Games, the studio who co-developed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 alongside Infinity Ward, has confirmed it is not involved in the forthcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Writing on Twitter, the company said, “Congrats to @InfinityWard on #CODGhosts!” adding, “Our team is heads down on our next project, but best wishes to the hardworking team at IW!”
The identity of Sledgehammer’s new game remains a mystery. Interestingly enough however, last year a job posting for a Senior FX Artist suggested it was indeed working on a new Call of Duty title.
Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released on current and next-generation formats in early November. The game features an all-new cast and storyline, as well as taking advantage of a fresh game engine.
