EA’s Star Wars plans to be revealed at E3

Electronic Arts has announced that it will present a first look at its plans for the Star Wars franchise at E3 next month.

The publishing giant snapped up the rights to the ‘core’ Star Wars titles a few weeks back. And, while details on the projects have been kept under wraps ever since, EA looks set to finally break silence at E3.

“Our E3 briefing…will be a showcase of next-generation games like Battlefield 4, Need For Speed, a full range of EA Sports games and a first look at our plans for the Star Wars partnership with Disney,” said EA Labels overlord, Frank Gibeau.

Development of the Star Wars games will be facilitated by an all-new DICE studio based in Los Angeles. EA confirmed that the titles will be powered by Frostbite 3, and won’t see the light of day until FY2014.

EA will host its E3 press event on June 10.
