Gamers are now able to sign up for Killzone: Mercenary’s multiplayer closed beta, Sony has announced.
Those of you who are interested in taking part have until 2.00 p.m. PDT/10.00 p.m. BST on July 17 to sign up for the beta. Sony will then email those of you who are lucky enough to have been chosen with instructions on what to do next.
Alex Burrows, PlayStation Betas coordinator, commented:
"Mercenary's multiplayer suite will provide players with a diverse range of weapons, grenades, armor, and special VAN-Guard devices enabling the player to customize their multiplayer load-out slots."
"This customisation supports the tactical element of the game - will you armor yourself up and go in like a tank, or take a more precise approach and assassinate enemies stealthily?
"No matter your tactical approach, Mercenary's multiplayer beta will give gamers an early look into the power and promise of PlayStation Vita as the optimal handheld platform for first-person shooters. Salivating? Sign up now before all slots are filled!"
Killzone: Mercenary is a PlayStation Vita-exclusive entry in the popular sci-fi FPS series, developed by British studio Guerrilla Cambridge. Due in September, the game offers three multiplayer offerings: Mercenary Warfare, Guerrilla Warfare and Warzone.
Up to eight players are supported in Mercenary’s online play, with six maps available to play based on various events in the Killzone universe. Aside from that, there is of course a regular single-player campaign to tuck into.
