Ubisoft expects its open-world hacking game Watch Dogs to flog 6.2 million copies worldwide following its November launch.
The figure was given during the publishing giant’s latest investor call earlier today, where company president Yves Guillemot compared post-E3 hype for the action-adventure title to that of the original Assassin’s Creed back in 2007.
Watch Dogs is currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal and sees gamers controlling hacker Aiden Pearce, who is able to tap into virtually electronic device, from mobile phones to traffic lights.
Built around the concept of information warfare, Watch Dogs also features intense shoot-outs and stealth mechanics, and takes place in an alternate reality version of Chicago, Illinois.
Elsewhere in the investor call, Guillemot confirmed that Ubisoft’s unannounced franchise has been delayed and will now launch during the next financial year, which runs April 2014 – 2015.
