The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Division won’t feature any unique content, developer Ubisoft Montreal has confirmed.
“Currently, right now, because we’re releasing for both platforms, we want the best game experience for both. We’re not planning specific content or specific unique, I guess, elements for either platform,” Ryan Bernard, game director on The Division, told OXM.
“We have a long development cycle, and who knows what will happen by the time the game’s released? But at the time, currently we’re not planning anything unique.”
The Division was announced at E3 back in June, and is scheduled for release in Q4 2014. The game takes inspiration from real-world events Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51, and sees society on the brink of collapse as a result of a mysterious disease outbreak. The Division uses the Snowdrop engine and takes the form of an MMO third-person shooter.
