In an interview with Game Informer, Polyphony Digital head honcho and creator of the Gran Turismo series, Kazunori Yamauchi, has given a possible hint as to how the long-running franchise could debut on the PlayStation 4.
When asked about working with the PS4, Yamauchi-san says that 'Once we start work on Gran Turismo for the PS4, perhaps it will be GT7. At that point, I guess we'll start to look of the peak performance for the PS4.'
Previously, Yamauchi-san said that GT6, which releases in December on PS3, could make its way to PS4. Maybe this is due to GT6 still having the PS2 level cars and tracks, which more than likely wouldn't be used in a PS4 game, therefore making the two games different. Whether GT7 would launch early in the PS4's life is another matter, though hopefully there will be no four-year wait like with GT5.
Whatever the case, we are sure Gran Turismo on PS4 will melt eyeballs and GT6 on PS3 looks stunning as it is.
