GTA V soundtrack features 240 songs

Rockstar has confirmed details on the soundtrack included in the hotly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto V.

The open-world crime sequel will boast the largest number of tracks seen in the GTA series to date, spread across 15 radio stations and two talk shows.

Said Ivan Pavlovich, soundtrack supervisor for GTA V: “It’s the largest soundtrack that we’ve ever done, and the largest score that we’ve done. For this game, which is set in our version of modern day Los Angeles, what was important for us was to capture that feeling of L.A. and California.”

“We approached the radio stations as the musical soundscape [you experience] as you fly into L.A. One of the things we’ve never done in a GTA game before is a pop station; exploring that made so much sense in the context of L.A.”

GTA V features the largest game environment seen to date in a Rockstar title. Unlike previous games, players will now control three protagonists – Franklin, Michael and Trevor – and cooperate on missions. In addition, the game also ships with the full-fledged multiplayer component, GTA Online.

GTA V is due out on September 17 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
