The new PlayStation Vita model announced at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show conference earlier this week is Japan-only for now, the company has revealed.
Announced alongside PlayStation Vita TV, the 2000 model replaces the original OLED screen with a flashy LCD display, and is 20 per cent thinner and 15 per cent lighter than its predecessor. In addition, it also includes 1GB of internal memory.
Speaking with IGN, Sony confirmed that it is “considering every opportunity” for the new model, but added it has “nothing to announce for the [Sony Computer Entertainment America] territory.”
The PS Vita 2000 launches in Japan on October 10 and will be available in six colours.
