Gran Turismo 6 may be patched for audio enhancements

Polyphony Digital head honcho Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that Gran Turismo 6’s audio enhancements could arrive post-launch in the form of a patch.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Yamauchi-san said that the sound changes may not be available to ship with the hotly-anticipated racer this December.

“I think I mentioned this in the past, but we’re really working to change the fundamental way that the engine sound works. Right now I have a feeling that it might not make it for day one for GT6,” he said.

“There’s a good possibility that we might do this,” Yamauchi-san added, in regards to whether they might be patched instead.

Elsewhere, the Gran Turismo creator confirmed that gamers won’t be able to transfer data between GT5 and GT6:

“For Gran Turismo 5 to Gran Turismo 6 there’ll be no real transfer of data. The main reason for that is the GT5 save data has been cracked already, so we can’t really confirm the validity of the save data.”

Last week it was revealed that the sequel to GT6 would likely arrive for PlayStation 4 in the next couple of years.
