A brand new multiplayer map that will see players fighting across a castle ruins has been revealed for Call Of Duty: Ghosts.
At a press event held in London this week, PlayStation Universe was treated to a look at Stonehaven, a location that wouldn’t look out of place if it were plonked right in the middle of the British countryside.
The map wasn’t playable, but we enjoyed a video walkthrough of Stonehaven complete with cinematic, sweeping camera angles across the hilly grounds and moss-ridden castle ruins. Though Activision didn’t tell us if the castle was inspired by anywhere in particular, a quick Google search of Stonehaven points us in the direction of a real-life Scottish town that houses the castle ruins of Dunnottar Castle. And, looking at some of the pictures of the castle there’s certainly some similarities.

Stonehaven appears to be set on high ground overlooking surrounding land, much like typical castles from the medieval period. It also features multi-tiered levels due to the undulating structure of the land so players will have ample opportunity to get to high places to overlook the area of ruined buildings below.
