Quantic Dream’s next-generation project will be vastly different to the company’s previous efforts Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, founder David Cage has said.
While the French studio has only just wrapped on Beyond, the PlayStation 3-exclusive supernatural adventure starring Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, Cage confirmed it already has a small team beavering away on its next game.
“We have a small team working on this next-gen project, on the tech, on the concepts and art. It’s very very exciting, something different from Beyond and Heavy Rain; building on the same grounds, but in a very different way,” he told GI.
“People should expect to be surprised again, because this is really what we try to do with each game – not give people what they expect, [but] give them something they want maybe without knowing this is what they want.”
Quantic Dream presented a tech demo, The Dark Sorcerer, at E3 back in June showcasing the power of PS4, though it is unknown if this will eventually materialize as a full project.
Beyond: Two Souls is due out on PS3 next month. Read our preview here.
