David Anfossi, head of development studio Eidos Montreal, has announced that the Deus Ex franchise will be coming to next-generation consoles.
Eidos Montreal's plans for the franchise are much bigger than a single game, though. There are plans to produce multiple games and media experiences that all share a common conspiracy. Eidos believes that this will create "a more immersive and richer experience than ever before." The Deus Ex experience won't be limited to just next-gen consoles, as Eidos intends to release content on a large number of platforms, including PCs, tablets, smartphones, books, graphic novels, and more. This new, interwoven network of Deus Ex content is titled Deus Ex Universe.
Deus Ex Universe is already in a state of production and the first game in the Universe will be coming to PC and next-gen consoles in the future. No release date has been given, but David Anfossi left us with a little something to whet our appetite in form of concept art. The below image represents a "ghetto-city" that was "voluntarily built in order to separate the classes." The dystopian vision that is represented in this art will apparently set the tone for all Deus Ex content in the future.
