Shacknews has reported that Sony has struck a deal with developers who offer their games for free on PlayStation Plus. The deal involves Sony paying developers who offer their games for free on the popular PlayStation Network subscription service.
The news was confirmed by PlayStation manager of developer relations Brian Silva, who told developers at IndieCade that they will offer "buyouts" to give away games on Plus for a month.
GamesIndustry also reported, in an interview with the developer Futurlab, that getting games onto Plus was "less about money and more about exposure, especially with a sequel coming."
Do you think Sony is doing the right thing with this approach ? Let us know in the comments.
