The Last of Us PS4 ruled out by Naughty Dog

17 October 2013

The developer behind The Last of Us has confirmed it has ‘no plans’ to bring the critically-acclaimed action-horror title to PlayStation 4.

Naughty Dog revealed the news in the comments section on the EU PlayStation Blog, where the studio told fans, “We have no plans to do that” in regards to a PS4 port.

The Last of Us was released exclusively for PS3 in June, and picked up rave reviews from critics, including PSU.com.

Rumors have gathered pace in recent months that the game is destined for Sony’s next-generation powerhouse, although Naughty Dog’s comments have seemingly shut the door on that possibility.

The studio has yet to confirm its plans for PS4, though it is believed the developer is working on a new installment in the highly successful Uncharted franchise.
