The PlayStation 4 version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will utilize the DualShock 4 touchpad to operate the in-game map.
That’s according to a new play test on the game from on canada.com, which had the touchpad enabled for the first time during a preview event.
While playing the game, a simple tap of the pad will open up the game’s map, and players can zoom in and out and navigating around the map by scrolling their finger across the device.
However, the site notes that the response of the touchpad isn't as smooth as other devices, such as the MacBook Air.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is due out on PS4 in November. The game also includes exclusive content in the form of new single-player missions revolving around the character of Aveline de Grandpre, from Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation.
Ubisoft recently unveiled the launch trailer for the game, which you can see here.
