EA 'firm longterm supporters of Sony,' says EA boss

23 October 2013

With EA's recent deals with Microsoft, many believe that the company is taking sides with the new consoles, but EA has refuted that and believes that the company is neutral and wants to give the same treatment to Sony and the PlayStation 4.

In an interview with Edge, EA Labels Boss Frank Gibeau believes that "We’re not tilting Microsoft’s way; we are firm longterm supporters of Sony." He continues, saying, "I’m sure you’ll see tactical programmes between us and Sony in the future that we haven’t announced, but will make things much more balanced."

The speculation will begin as to what could be included in this deal between EA and Sony if it does indeed happen. When looking at the current one with Microsoft, which includes content like the Second Assault map pack for Battlefield 4 launching first, Ultimate Team Legends for FIFA 14, Peggle 2 launching first on Xbox One, as well as Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, and, of course, Titanfall, we can only imagine that having equivalent levels of exclusive content would make the competition between the next gen consoles even greater. Really, the deal could include anything, perhaps Mirror's Edge and Star Wars: Battlefront will come out first on PS4. Until EA announces anything officially, one can only speculate and dream.
