Battlefield 4 PS4 patch notes released, one-hit kill bug fixed

3 December 2013

Battlefield 4 players on the PlayStation 4 can look forward to a patch today that coincides with the release of China Rising content for Premium members.

The update will be "live in the afternoon EU time", as stated by DICE, and the Battlefield servers may go down for as long as a few minutes as the update is implemented. The complete PS4 patch notes follow.

-Fixed the "one-hit kill" bug where bullets were sometimes applying their damage multiple times to a character. This could lead to firefights where normal rifles sometimes dealt one-shot kills, which is not as designed.
-Fixed a crash that could occur when having a very large amounts of Friends
-Enabled audio in PS4 video captures

The "one-hit kill" bug is the highlight of the patch, hopefully ensuring that they'll be better gunfights in multiplayer game modes, while the audio fix for livestreaming is a godsend for those who enjoy streaming gameplay on either Twitch or UStream directly from the PS4 console. The crash error fix is a mystery as the description DICE has given in the patch notes is too vague for one to assume it will add much needed stability for the majority of the playerbase.

Though this patch is very important and is being released quickly, there is still much to be delivered by DICE, from fixing crash errors during larger game modes such as Conquest, to eliminating the possibility of corrupted campaign save files. Slowly but surely DICE is transitioning Battlefield 4 into the game players wanted to play on launch day. This patch is only one rung of the ladder, but it is good to see DICE is focused on climbing its way to the top.
