PlayStation 4 sold 700,000 units across Europe and Australasia in the period November 29 - December 1, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has confirmed (via worldsfactory).
The platform holder revealed the figures following its announcement that 2.1 million PS4s have been sold worldwide to date.
Sony’s next-generation console launched in the U.S. on November 15 and the U.K. and Europe on November 29. As a result of its success, the high spec machine is now the fastest-selling consoles in British history, surpassing the record previously held by PlayStation Portable in 2005.
PS4 has also outpaced lifetime sales of the Wii U despite Nintendo’s system having been on sale for just over a year.
