Sony has today announced that a new car will be coming to Gran Turismo 6 via an update, which will go live tomorrow and bring a new seasonal event featuring the vehicle.
The car in question is the Toyota FT-1, a concept car which was unveiled at the recent Detroit Motor Show. The FT-1 was designed with the assistance of Gran Turismo developer Polyphony Digital.The official PS Blog talks about this collaboration below:
'Calty Design Research has worked with Toyota over the last 40 years, concepting some of the manufacturer’s most cutting-edge vehicles, including the FT-1. As part of the design process, Calty approached Polyphony and asked the prestigious video game studio to recreate the concept digitally as part of the design studio’s pitch to Toyota executives. Watching the concept car in the Gran Turismo game engine helped Toyota make the decision to build the concept model.'
The car will be available to buy in-game, and can be earned by completing the seasonal event at Laguna Seca by getting a Bronze medal or above. You can see the new vehicle itself in the video below:
