ZeniMax Online Studios has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls Online for PlayStation 4 will not require a subscription to PlayStation Plus in order to play.
Game Director Matt Firor revealed that Bethesda and Sony have come to an arrangement ensuring that players only need the game-specific subscription to get into the fantasy MMORPG -- as is the case for PC and Mac users.
"A PlayStation Plus membership is not required to play The Elder Scrolls Online," said Firor on the PlayStation Blog. "PS4 players will only be required to pay the same monthly subscription associated with The Elder Scrolls Online that PC and Mac users will pay - nothing more."
The Elder Scrolls Online is scheduled to ship for PS4 in June. The game will feature voice talent from the likes of John Cleese, Michael Gambon and Bill Nighy.
