Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was originally planned as a launch title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, creator Hideo Kojima has revealed.
Speaking to EuroGamer.pt, Kojima-san said that plans to release the game last November alongside Sony and Microsoft’s new home consoles were scrapped, as production on the “huge” project couldn’t be completed in time.
Ground Zeroes takes place in the year 1975, shortly after the events of MGS: Peace Walker. Here, we find legendary mercenary Big Boss (aka Snake) on a mission to rescue two POWs - Chico and Paz - from the heavily-fortified Camp Omega.
The game is a prequel to the upcoming MGS 5: The Phantom Pain, which is rumored to be coming in early 2015.
