The CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) has said that the console maker is unlikely to resolve on-going PlayStation 4 stock shortages until summer.
Speaking with the Wall Street Journal at GDC 2014 (via GameSpot), Andrew House conceded that supply is still an issue for Sony some four months after PS4’s launch.
“We’re struggling to keep up with demand,” said House. “Conservatively, as we get into the early summer months, we’ll be closer to a full supply situation.”
He also revealed that demand for Sony’s new home console has been strongest in North America and Europe.
PS4 has sold over six million units of hardware as of early March 2014, while Xbox One was confirmed to have moved three million as of January.
