Final Fantasy X-3 not in development, Final Fantasy 15 is progressing 'smoothly'

The latest issue of Japan’s Famitsu magazine has dedicated a special section to Square Enix titles, titled ‘The Truth of Rumors 2104.’

Here, the Japanese publishing giant issued status updates for games including Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD ReMIX, as well as tackling some of the latest rumors doing the rounds.

First up, according to a translation by Siliconera, Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto revealed that development of Final Fantasy XV is progressing smoothly.

Also, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix has just seen a number of new scenes wrapped, with development of the project soon coming to a close. More info is expected to drop soon.

Meanwhile, Mitsunori Takahashi, the Series Director on the Dissidia franchise, touched on the possibility of a new title, commenting: “I definitely want to make it.”

Those of you hoping to see Final Fantasy X-3 however, will be in for a disappointment: Yoshinori Kitase confirmed the game isn’t in the works.
