The PlayStation 4 version of Naughty Dog’s critically-acclaimed The Last of Us is reportedly not due out until October, according to a snapshot of an ad on Eurogamer (via DualShockers).
According to the ad, which has now been taken down, the post-apocalyptic adventure won’t hit stores until October 10 -- missing its intended summer 2014 launch window.
Typically, this sort of advertisement campaign runs parallel with the latest gaming announcements, so if it’s authentic, then it was likely posted in error ahead of today’s press conference.
Nothing official has been confirmed by publisher Sony as of yet, though industry tipster Tidux said only this weekend that the game is going to be released this month. Hopefully this is the case, as we’re as eager as you are to get our hands on the game for our shiny new PS4s.
Naughty Dog previously asserted that The Last of Us Remasterd won't miss its targeted summer release date.
The Last of Us Remastered features enhanced visuals displayed in 1080p, improved lighting effects, smoother character models, plus all existing DLC including the single-player add-on, Left Behind.
