Shuhei Yoshida, the President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), has confirmed that the company is still aiming to bring PlayStation 4 features such as suspend/resume to users at some point down the line.
Speaking during an interview with Kotaku, Yoshida-san said that this feature, along with other promised additions like inviting gamers to take over a game remotely, are still in the pipeline.
Sony announced the features during the PS4 reveal event in New York City last February, but hasn't touched on them until now.
Pleasingly, these additions haven’t been shelved, but they’re “not ready yet,” says the executive.
"Our team has been working on it," said Yoshida-san. "There are some things that we announced in February of last year that were not planned for the launch timeframe.
"I am asking the same question to my tech team every other week. Because every day I get reminded by lots of people: 'Where is this? Where is that?' It's a great reminder for me."
PS4 launched last November and has sold over seven million units worldwide.
