Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor runs at 1080p on PS4

The developer behind Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the upcoming fantasy-RPG title inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, will clock in at 1080p on PlayStation 4.

Speaking during a live stream courtesy of TwinGalaxies, Monolith Studio’s Kevin Stephens commented, “It’s definitely 1080p and we are going to do everything we can to get to 60 frames per second.”

Oddly enough, Monolith wouldn’t comment when asked about the performance of the Xbox One version.

Shadow of Mordor sees gamers controlling floppy-haired hero Tailon, a ranger killed and resurrected with Wraith-like abilities who embarks on a quest for revenge against Sauron’s evil forces.

The game is set in an open-world, and introduces the innovative ‘Nemesis’ system, which dynamically affects the way enemies treat you depending on your actions throughout the game. Players will also be able to wield an assortment of powers and level up via skill trees.

Shadow of Mordor is released on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in October.
