PlayStation 4 sales in Japan have been given a slight boost by the arrival of Ubisoft’s open-world hacking title, Watch Dogs.
The third-person action-adventure debuted at no.2 on the software charts, shifting 63,595 copies in its opening week. By comparison, the PlayStation 3 version moved 31,028 copies, hitting no.6 on the chart.
PS4 meanwhile sold 8,059 units, which is a noticeable improvement over the previous week, when it moved 7,009.
However, the big winner of the week was PlayStation Vita, with the Sony Japan-developed title Freedom Wars shifting a whopping 188,888 copies. This resulted in a nice bump in PS Vita sales, with Sony’s handheld selling 24,919 units.
3DS still rules the roost however, with 27,884 units moved during the same period.
