Assassin's Creed Rogue announced with cut-throat cinematic trailer

5 August 2014

Ubisoft has officially announced the long-rumored Assassin’s Creed Rogue for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The swashbuckling title is in development at Ubisoft Sofia, and features collaborations with the publishing giant’s Singapore, Montreal, Quebec, Chengdu, Milan, and Bucharest studios. As previously reported, it’s due out on November 11.

Rogue takes place during the Seven Year War between 1754 and 1756, and features Assassin-turned-Templar, Shay Patrick Cormac, who sets sail to explore a variety of locations across North America as he hunts down his former brethren.

The game will once again feature a combination of land and sea-based combat, with new weapons and tactics available, plus a brand new ship in the form of the Morrigan. Somehow or another, it’ll also tie into the Kenway story arc started with Assassin’s Creed III, and continued in last year’s pirate-themed Black Flag.

Ubisoft Sofia’s Martin Capel commented: “We know that there are many Assassin’s Creed fans with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles who want to get their hands on a new Assassin’s Creed game this year.

“Assassin’s Creed Rogue completes the North American saga started with Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and gives previous generation console owners an exclusive opportunity to experience fan-requested features, such as playing as a Templar.”

Stay tuned for more information on Assassin’s Creed Rogue as it becomes available. In the meantime, have a gander at the debut trailer below.
