The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will require players to download a day-one patch for the hotly anticipated fantasy-MMO this summer.

Bethesda confirmed that the update will weigh in at approximately 15GB for PS4 and Xbox One users. Not only that, but the game itself is pretty meaty, eating up a full standard Blu-ray disc, which can carry 50GB of data. Throw in the day-one patch, and that's 65GB in total.

"We're sure everyone is interested to know the size of the game client in order to get your hard drives ready. ESOTU is an incredibly massive game, both in terms of sheer scope and the data required to bring you this truly enormous experience. At the moment, the client will exceed a 50GB Blu-ray disc which means there will also be a large day-one patch that is somewhere in the region of 15GB."

The Elder Scrolls Online is due out on PS4 and Xbox One in June 2015. The game is currently in a closed beta phase for select users, which wraps on Monday, April 27, and was originally expected to show up last summer before undergoing a significant overhaul that removed the online subscription fee.
