The latest Attack on Titan game will launch on August 26 in Europe (under the name Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom) and August 30 in North America. A physical release will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PC versions will be digital-only.
Previously a PlayStation consoles’ exclusive, the action game based on the blockbuster manga and anime was first announced last August and released in Japan this past February. Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force, best known for the Dynasty Warriors franchise, are behind the development of the project with the PS4 used as the lead platform.
Only the original Japanese dialogue audio will be included with English, French, and German subtitles.
Storywise, the game covers the first season of the anime adaptation which aired in 2013. Players take up the role of the equipped Survey Corps soldiers, who use the grappling hook-like 3D Maneuver Gear and sword blades to take down the massive enemies known as Titans.
