Uncharted 4 street date broken in US & UK, PS4's must-have game available 2 weeks early

Customers in the U.S. also getting early copies of Uncharted 4 via Amazon, reports claim.

Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has had its street date broken by two weeks in the U.K.

As reported by VideoGamer, one lucky gamer, known as Shabz, was able to pick up a copy of the PlayStation 4-exclusive sequel in his local CEX store. That’s despite the fact the game isn’t officially released until May 10.

Unsurprisingly however, some portions of the game are not currently working. The multiplayer is not accessible at present, while the Trophies are not synching to Sony’s servers and aren’t visible in the menu screen.

In addition to that, the downloadable content code featured with the Day One Edition of Uncharted 4 does not currently work.

"I went in to CEX... to actually buy myself a camera lens," he told VideoGamer, "and when I went to the counter to purchase the lens I saw behind the shop assistant that there was Uncharted 4 so as a try I said can I also get a copy of Uncharted 4, he just picked it up and rang it through the till. The game cost £55."

Shabz added that he has played through the first two chapters of Uncharted 4, noting that the campaign "is so far running fine. May have a few frame drops but not so noticeable," he said, adding that "at heavy firefight it wasn't too bad with framerates."

It’s not just the U.K. that seems to be getting early copies of Uncharted 4. Reports also cropped up overnight of gamers in the United States and Germany receiving dispatch emails from Amazon. Copies have also turned up on eBay too.

Interestingly, it’s worth remembering that Uncharted 4 was initially due to ship on April 26, but was delayed due to manufacturing issues. Prior to that, it had been scheduled for a worldwide release on March 18.

Uncharted 4 reunites Nathan Drake with his long-lost brother, Sam, as the pair team up with Victor Sullivan in pursuit of a legendary pirate’s treasure once owned by Henry Avery. Their globetrotting trek takes them everywhere from chilly Scotland to the lush jungles of Madagascar, as they’re pursued by a deadly group of mercenaries.

Naughty Dog has confirmed that this will be its final Uncharted game, although it has said another developer may take over the franchise providing it’s good enough. Watch the final trailer for the game here.
