GameStop has reiterated that it expects more information on the rumored PlayStation 4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio at E3 later this month.

Speaking with FOX Business, the retail giant’s CEO, Paul Raines, touched on the subject of new hardware while discussing the success of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. See here for his thoughts on Naughty Dog’s latest action-adventure.

Moving on, he said that E3 is definitely the place to watch for new consoles: "We'd love to see some virtual reality and some new consoles come in. We're going to hear about that at E3. But I'd say for investors, GameStop's very healthy and a very resilient company."

With E3 kicking off on June 12, we won’t have to wait long to see if Raines’ comments are indeed on the money.

Sony gearing up for new hardware with the PS4K, aka Neo

Rumors have been circulating for months now regarding a possible PS4 hardware upgrade, which was originally dubbed the PS4.5 or PS4K. Initial reports pegged the system for a holiday 2016 launch, priced at $400, with a reveal planned prior to PlayStation VR’s release this fall.

However, later reports on the PS4K, which soon attracted the alias Neo, suggested that the device won’t be rolled out until March 2017. This conflicts with recent stories that indicate Sony will launch the PS4 Neo around October, with a reveal planned for the Tokyo Game Show, not E3.

Microsoft is also reportedly chiselling away on an improved Xbox One console, dubbed Scorpio, which will supposedly give the Neo a run for its money in terms of performance.

PS4 launched in November 2013 and has sold 40 million units worldwide to date, putting it comfortably ahead of the Xbox One.
