If you’re clamouring for a new game that takes inspiration from Team ICO’s revered 2006 opus, Shadow of the Colossus, then you may want to set your peepers on the upcoming Prey for the Gods from No Matter Studios.

The upcoming action-adventure has been touted as a spiritual successor to Shadow of the Colossus, and also plucks influence from the likes of Bloodborne, Deus Ex, and DayZ. The game is a Kickstarter-funded project that has raised an impressive $500,000+ of its initial $300,000 target.

Over the weekend it was confirmed that Prey for the Gods will now be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as standard, versions of which were originally locked firmly behind various stretch goals. The project has also garnered support from YouTube personality PewDiePie, who helped the studio reach the last few goals in a stream over the weekend.

Want more info? Then here’s the official blurb:

"In Prey for the Gods, you play a lone hero sent to the edge of a dying world to discover the mystery behind a never-ending winter. Arriving with only the clothes on your back, you must survive the colossal dangers that you encounter. To restore balance and reclaim the land from the brink, you will be faced with questions that not even a God knows the answer to.”

Prey for the Gods is currently pencilled in for release December 2017.
