Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced that it has sold through 50 million PlayStation 4 units worldwide.
PS4 sales hit new milestone
The figure also includes sales of the PlayStation 4 Pro, released on November 10, and follows the PlayStation brand’s most successful Black Friday week since Sony entered the console market back in 1994. In addition to the strong performance of PS4 hardware, sales of PS4 digital and physical software have reached 369.6 million globally.

Sony has a major year ahead with a number of high-profile titles due to hit the PS4 in 2017, such as Resident Evil 7: biohazard, Tekken 7, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Gran Turismo Sport, God of War, and more. The company recently held its third annual PlayStation Experience event, where it announced two new exclusives in the shape of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and The Last of Us Part 2.
