Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE) has announced plans to launch a Glacier White version of the PlayStation 4 Slim later this month.

White PS4 set to grace stores in two weeks time

Sony launched the PS4 back in November 2013 alongside Microsoft’s Xbox One, although the PS4 quickly established a firm lead over its main rival in terms of worldwide sales. Last September saw the release of the PS4 Slim, a trimmer version of Sony’s flagship console that replaced the original model, while November saw the format holder enter the 4K gaming sector with the launch of PlayStation 4 Pro.

The PS4 has sold over 53.4 million units worldwide as of December 21, 2016, and enjoyed a bumper holiday season, with over six million consoles sold during this period alone. 2017 will see the release of a number of high-profile games from Sony’s first-party studios, such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, Gran Turismo Sport, and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, while third-party highlights include Resident Evil 7: biohazard, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
