The Resident Evil 7 demo has been hacked for PC, allowing gamers to play through the teaser for Capcom’s survival horror title in third-person.
It’s interesting to note that the in-game model for the playable character is highly detailed despite the fact we never see him in the game’s standard first-person viewpoint, although amusingly, he doesn’t actually have a head. Check it out below (via Game Revolution).
Needless to say, this mod is an interesting development for Resident Evil fans, especially those who were put off by the move to first-person, which mirrors recent horror titles such as Outlast and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Capcom has defended the move to first-person however, insisting it is the best way to enhance the game’s atmosphere.
Resident Evil 7: biohazard is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 24, 2017. Those of you who feel like splashing out on the upcoming horror romp can invest in the Resident Evil 7 Collector’s Edition, which features a music box shaped like the Baker mansion, a USB dummy finger, and other physical content.
You can download the Resident Evil 7 demo now via the PlayStation Store. Don’t forget to solve the Murder Mystery while you’re there too, as you’ll be able to unlock a special item to use in the final game.
