Capcom has announced a Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen release date for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of its cult fantasy-RPG.

The current-generation versions of Dragon’s Dogma will launch on October 3, 2017, the publisher announced on the game’s official Twitter account this afternoon.

Capcom has been pretty active giving its last-gen hits a high-definition makeover for PS4, with the publisher last year re-releasing no less than four Resident Evil titles---RE: Zero, 4, 5, and 6--- for Sony’s flagship games console. This year will also see the PS4 and Xbox One debut of Resident Evil: Revelations, which arrives at the end of August.

The original version of Dragon’s Dogma was released for PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012, and gives off a distinct Elder Scrolls vibe with its fantasy-rich open-world to explore, which is ripe with NPCs and side quests to tuck into. Players can pick from a selection of diverse classes, such as the Fighter, Strider, Mag, Warrior, and more, with Dragon’s Dogma’s pawn system being its standout gameplay trope.

Like any good fantasy-RPG worth its salt, Dragon’s Dogma offers a meaty campaign with over 70 hours of play time if juggle the main storyline with the abundance of side quests on offer. Along the way you’ll scrap it out with various mythological beasts, which is where the Devil May Cry-flavoured hack-’n-slash combat comes into play, which differs depending on your chosen class.

Dragon’s Dogma was re-released in 2013 under the Dark Arisen moniker, which includes all available downloadable content for the game plus a number of additional features, such as new weapons and armor, a fast-travel system, and a whole new area to explore. It’s this version of the game that PS4 players will be able to snap up when the title hits Sony’s machine next month.
