Formula One star Lewis Hamilton will have a starring role in Gran Turismo Sport, Sony and Polyphony Digital have confirmed.
Hamilton, who has an impressive three Formula One world championships under his belt, will dish out in-game advice. In addition, he’ll also offer insight into working with Polyphony on the racing simulation title during production.

Elsewhere, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed that the Gran Turismo Sport demo attracted one million players.
The limited-time demo was available for four days and wrapped up earlier today in the U.K. As a testament to its success, the game’s server were overwhelmed at launch, resulting in Polyphony having to reconfigure them.
For those who didn’t get in on the action, the Gran Turismo Sport demo allowed users to test out a number of the game’s modes. These include the Sport, Arcade, and Campaign options, plus the ability to earn credits that will be transferable to the full game.
Don’t forget that if you’re a fan of the series and are in the market for a new PS4, then you’ll probably want to check out the GT Sport hardware bundle.
Gran Turismo Sport release date
Gran Turismo Sport is scheduled to ship exclusively for PS4 in the U.S. on October 17 and in Europe on October 18.
One of the biggest new inclusions in GT Sport is the introduction of Porsche cars for the first time in the franchise, after publisher Electronic Arts lost exclusive rights to the brand.
The game features both online and offline racing, but eschews the dynamic weather system seen in previous instalments of the franchise.
