The latest issue of Japanese gaming publication Famitsu magazine has unveiled development of a new role playing game (RPG) for PlayStation 3, titled Record of Agarest War.
According to the Famitsu article, the game is under collaborative development by three companies; Idea Factory, Red Entertainment and Compile Heart, who are confirmed to be handling game system, script and publishing duties, respectively.
Set in a fantasy universe spanning five generations, Agarest Of War pits players in the shoes of multiple heroic figures, which see them travelling across a total of five continents. With each new generation born, a new continent must be traversed, again in the shoes of a different character as each hero is succeeded by the next. Accumulating “battle points” will allow gamers to enter various, turn-based battle systems, where you will be able to employ a variety of weapons and tactics to unleash upon your foes.
Record Of Agarest War is due to ship for PlayStation 3 in Japan on September 27th, with a western release yet to be determined. However, be sure to stay tuned to PlayStation Universe for more details as soon as we get them.
