Atari has unboxed fresh info on the upcoming Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
According to the publisher, Dark Athena will provide roughly 11 hours of new gameplay, alongside the 9 hours worth of existing content from Escape from Butcher's Bay
In terms of multiplayer, players can expect six modes in total, ranging from traditional Death Match, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag, to new additions such as Butcher Bay Riot, Pitch Black and Arena.
Butcher Bay Riot has 12 participants split into teams including Guards, Prisoners and Mercenaries, who must battle for a single powercell and deposit it in the opposing team’s base to score points.
Meanwhile, Pitch Black has you assuming control of one of five mercenaries hunting Riddick across a blacked-out environment, with the flashlight on your weapon the only source of light. The player who succeeds in eliminating Riddick will then respawn as him and must in turn avoid his pursuers.
Lastly, Arena offers a rudimentary one-on-one or two-on-two battle allowing access to every weapon in the game.
The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is due out in Spring 2009.
