EA: Red Alert 3 looks better on PS3 than 360

There was once a time when Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 looked as though it would never see the light of day on PlayStation 3. Developed by EA Los Angeles, the popular RTS sequel had been pushed into the "suspended development" circle, which usually means we'll never see it finished.
Fortunately, EA saw fit to resume the game’s development a few months back, and has since acknowledged that the PS3 version of the game is superior in certain areas to its Xbox 360 counterpart.
According to Red Alert 3's producer Greg Kasavin, the PS3 installment offers much better visuals than you’ll find on Microsoft’s console, observing that the water effects, general color palette, and even the general unit aesthetics are more polished in comparison.
On top of just looking better (which is usually what matters), Red Alert 3 on PS3 also features the same type of content that the PC Premier Edition launched with. However, 1up notes that the most significant bonus is the Unit Profiles, which detail what each type of unit within the game is capable of.
We should also mention that the PS3 iteration also features more skirmish maps than both other platforms, something that helps justify the price tag come launch.

Even though RTS are better on PC, mine is too far outdated to play this, so I'll get it on PS3. I can't wait. Of course if they make it where you can use a keyboard and mouse on the PS3, that would be sweet. Since I have my PS3 right next to my comptuer desk, it wouldn't be hard to hook it up and play.

ppl, get real, graphics DO matter. A LOT. if it wasn't like that, we will still be playing ps1. heck, even the atari 2600. we do sometimes, but how many good ps3 games did you pass on to buy nes carts?
i know it's not the most important aspect of the games, but you can't deny that the graphics is the first thing you notice.
before having the chance to play killzone2, everyone got in love because of what? graphics!!! luckly, it turned out to be a game that excels at everything.i got the demo of wanted today. as it started, i noticed the overly-stuttering models. isntant turn off. then came the gamplay, which was also mediocre...

I'm not denying that graphics are indeed important, but so many people seem to overlook gameplay for graphics which is ridiculous. And i still do play my PS1 - i think MGS1 is a better game than anything i've bought for my PS3. And admittedly iv only played the KZ2 demo, and did enjoy it, but i think resistance 2 is a more enjoyable game - even though killzone has much better graphics. But the co-op campaign and the 60 player competitive is enought to swing it for me; i just hate it when people look over great features like those in favour of graphics.

Wasnt PS3 the lead platform? These are the same guys who were crying about PS3 texture memory until Sony sent their coders to help them out. Anyway it sounds like PR marketing to drum up sales to me. We heard the same thing about Bioshock and it ended up looking worse on PS3. I was already going to buy the PS3 version anyway so I guess we'll see.

i kind of agree with you. i still play my snes sometimes, and i think most old school games are better than part of the new wave.
as for metal gear on ps1, i agree. i play it from time to time, and it's a masterpiece. but what i meant with "we would still be playing ps1" is: have you played mgs4? the chapter where you return to shadow moses? imagine a remake of mgs1 on ps3, with that kind of graphics. same game, but much better. limited vision because of GOOD snow effects, better strategy planning and hiding because you and enemies can "see" each other because of casted shadows...
graphics are not the most important thing, but they do count...

Okay! You can officially color me interested! Something tells me EA is starting to lean more towards the PS3 and Sony as a whole! But this shouldn't be surprising considering how much EA rakes in from Sony platforms and even the PS3. I think I'll give this game a shot.

Keyboard and Mouse support Sony!!!!!!! For games like this, MMO's and FPS. I can't believe they don't or the developers are not at least making it an option like on PC's. It would be so nice to be able to assign your own buttons. I would own a HeII of a lot more games if I could.

Great, more fanboy fodder. Anyway, both systems are great, the only thing PS3 does better is Blu-ray which is easy since 360 doesn't have it. Any variation against multiplatform games is just goofy hype. The fact is that EA and Sony have been making some big deals recently to ratchet up support for the PS3 so expect EA to start saying this about all their upcoming games.

That's awesome. Man, I never used to go on this site, just used the forums, but after going on this it seems that the PS3 is really gaining momentum.

Hmm looks better in certain areas doesn't say much. It could still have worse framerate and more aliased than the 360 version.
