2K Games removes “Sea of Dreams” from BioShock 2

2K Games has revealed that the 'Sea of Dreams' subtitle for BioShock 2 seen in the game's initial teaser trailer will no longer be used.

Confusion was sparked following a recent issue of Gamer Informer refered to the game as BioShock 2, removing the subtitle from the equation. However, 2K Games community manager Elizabeth Tobey has since stated:  “You won’t be seeing ‘Sea of Dreams’ moving forward, just ‘BioShock 2'."

The company didn't say why it decided to remove the subtitle, although it probably decided it would be easier to plump for the more rudimentary title of BioShock 2.

    There were rumours at first that the game was a prequel, The title may have been related to an early premise. Maybe that has something to do with it now that we know it takes place 10 years after the first.

    Good, Sea Of Dreams is a horrible addition to a simple yet alright name. Bishock 2 sounds good enough, no need to change it. I also hope the makers of Uncharted 2 will take the added name away. Among Thieves just sounds so...corny...

    Personally, I wish they'd remove Bioshock 2 and keep "Sea of Dreams".

    Just stick with Boshock 2. No problem with that.

    The first Bioshock was the first game I bought for my X360, so I'll probably pick up number 2. Not sure for which system tho.

    I think it's the right decision, I personally, hate subtitles. BioShock 2 is just a lot better to say than 'BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams'. Keep it simple, I say. Although, 'Sea of Dreams' is a pretty good subtitle.
