Madden 08 makes gaming news again. Just last week EA reported that Madden 08 will be running at 60 frames per second on the PlayStation 3, and gamers rejoiced. Now EA is back with even more exciting news regarding the next generation Madden.
EA’s latest press release was about a new feature called RING OF A CHAMPION. The feature is the connection between the real world and the gaming world of Madden gamers. RING OF A CHAMPION is an actual ring that gamers can buy by accomplishing several goals in Madden 08. The achievements are tracked by levels and once a player reaches level 3 of 5 the game outputs a code that the player can insert on Jostens' website to purchase the ring.
"We wanted our gamers to have something tangible to recognize their achievements within Madden NFL 08 and we kept coming back to Super Bowl rings," said Madden NFL 08 Lead Producer David Ortiz. "We wanted to remain authentic to the real Super Bowl ring therefore we forged a great partnership with Jostens to allow our gamers to proudly display their Madden NFL 08 skills."
The top and side of each ring is fully customizable, and each ring can be fitted with team logos. Once a player reaches the rank of Epic ring status the rings are FULLY customizable which allows for more creativity and a enhanced design.
"We know that Madden NFL players are passionate about their game and take pride in their skills," said Mike Bailey, president and CEO, Jostens. Inc. "We've had fun designing the rings with EA and hope they add a new dimension of reward to the game."
The creators of the rings are also known for 27 of the 41 Super Bowl rings, and will be bringing 3 unique designs available in non-precious metals as well as 10K white and yellow gold to offer Madden gamers. Each ring can be fitted with a variety of colors, but expect to pay anything from $149 for a non precious ring to $495 for a 10K Gold ring. If gamers choose to they can also include diamonds, simulated stones of choice, and cubic zirconium stones.
Madden 08 will be available August 14. Stay tuned to PSU for the latest info!
