Ready or not, here comes another Star Wars game. Lucas Arts announced Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS, promising to take multiplayer to a new level.
The new installment is a twist on the Battlefront series, giving players the ability to start a battle on land, then take to the skies and space in a vehicle, then land on a capital starship and continue the battle. The game spans the entire Star Wars saga and beyond.
The single-player story of Elite Squadron puts the player in the role of a clone trooper, X2, who joins the Rebellion against the wishes of his twin, X1.
You can expect a ton of customization in the PSP version, with the ability to modify your character’s clothing and body, and hundreds of unlockable items to create a personalized clone trooper.
Elite Squadron features 16-player multiplayer enhanced with stat tracking, and an all-new “Heroes and Villains” mode that puts you in the roles of major Star Wars heroes and villains like Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett.
The game is expected to launch this fall.
